From the first of July, John Whitelock joined the Executive Team as Director of New Business taking on a new role combining the housing development side of Saffron Housing Trust with bringing in new services and opportunities. Some of our customers will know John as he has been with Saffron, initially with the supported housing team, since it started six years ago. He is looking forward to his new role and believes that Saffron is well placed to help develop new services for tenants and the wider community. Saffron is also delighted to welcome new Board members, South Norfolk Councillors Eloise Ellis and John Overton.

Weavers Court

Weavers Court

Weavers Court is a newly created Housing With Care scheme. It is situated near the centre of the market town of Diss. There are 48 flats and three bungalows at present, two of which are adapted for the disabled.

Weavers Court offers many on-site facilities including the following:

• 24-hour trained staff
• Lunches seven days a week, with a choice of main course and dessert
• Assisted bathing
• Coffee shop open seven days a week
• Lifts to upper floors, one each end of the building
• Thriving social club with many weekly activities

• Garages (limited number)
• Two indoor garden areas
• Two guest rooms, one single and one double

• Sunday service once a month
• Visiting library

• Hairdresser once a week
• Taxi service once a fortnight for larger shopping

There is also a large communal lounge as well as other smaller areas where residents can spend time.


Nearby, in the town centre (well within walking distance) are three major food stores, Post Office and library as well as the picturesque Mere. The Health Centre is opposite Weavers Court with regular bus routes for out-of-town visiting.
